We are venturing out of the shop, with it's mediaeval low ceilings, and stone floors, and into a beautiful Georgian home that is all heavenly light and high ceilings.

How to decorate the home at Christmas is a full day class is set in a beautiful Georgian house in the heart of Stamford, where you can also stay the night before, the night of, or both.

The morning will be spent making one of signature mixed foliage wreaths. The traditional brass frame, moss and reel wire method, means you create a dense and luxurious wreath. Then to finish in true Miss P style, pheasant and partridge feathers, pine cones, and berries.

A demonstration of the garlanding technique, and how to attach the garland to a staircase. Tips on how to further decorate it once in situ, and how to keep it looking fresh.

Lunch will be served in the dining room, the table will be dressed with flowers and candles to give you inspiration for the afternoon session making table centres using the best of the winter flowers, amaryllis, anemones, ranunculus and roses.

Then ideas on how to decorate the mantle in the drawing room using foliage, candles and other curiosities.

We will aim to finish by 5pm be prepared to take a cart load of flowers home. All materials, tools, food, beverages and expertise are included in the price.

For those travelling from further afield, the house has 4 rooms which are available for bed and breakfast. Each room is beautifully decorated with the most exquisite views of Stamford.

These photos made me miss Stamford a little bit, outrageous! It is stupendously nice at Christmas there. Hope the flower school goes well.
