Old school

I made this head dress last summer for Charlotte.
Charlotte and Harry came to see me around the same time i acquired the big book of tiara's.
Do you remember? when i was harping on about splendour
and Charlotte said she fancied something Edwardian
and I got terribly excited and waved my arms in the air and bought spray paint and an awful lot of very very fine wires, scented geranium leaves, delphinium flowers, lily of the valley and cyclamen heads. A return to old school floristry.

She wore it with such aplomb.

The photograph above is by the very wonderful team at M & J photos their wedding photographers.

You can see more of this wedding on Love My Dress.

I love all the huge headdresses that you see on collaborative shoots, but in the words of Vivian.

"Come on Barney, you and me live in the real world - most of the time"

Name that film.

I think i could still recite the entire script word for word.

My skills, some useful, some not so much.

Dark days

Good to say my old friend majolica
still not convinced on the alstro

Quando sono arrivato a Roma a ventisei anni

Last night I watched this film, and immediately wanted to move back to Italy.

Mainly for the roof terrace.

If you like films that are achingly beautiful, dark, observational, make judgements on the Vatican, feature a hefty amount of hedonism, good tailoring, a cracking soundtrack, and papal candidates giving out recipes for Ligurian rabbit.

you should definitely watch it.

Don't watch it if you like films with Bruce Willis or Steven Seagal in them.

A man walks into a flower shop

I would like to buy some flowers for my mother, Mrs D he said

I eyed him suspiciously, knowing that Mrs D didn't have any children, who was he? a love child set to upset life at the manor by revealing himself?  a con man?

As it turns out he is the son of the other Mrs D

and this is not 1952

and this is not St. Mary Mead

and I should probably stop wearing all the tweed

In the shop

White and green on the shelves, a lot of moss, and some alstro.

Controversial i know but i am on a mission to try new things.

I am also on a mission to come up with a new Valentine's day campaign.

So far my idea has been vetoed.

Lately and in no particular order

Tales from my iphone and camera.
It is only half the story
The half that involves whites and greens
and museums.

Did you make a resolution to get fit this year?
Me too

I think this is the thing

are you in?
can we do it together with the aid team support and a good sports bra?

Listen to this whilst you do it.

Happy New Year
